How to Feature Categories on Squarespace 7.0

There are multiple different ways to FEATURE BLOG POSTS, but categories is the BEST! Learn why!

For this particular client I didn’t just use the standard Squarespace “blog” page as my blog that is in the menu. This is because I wanted to customize the blog page (and Squarespace 7.0 Brine family Blog page doesn’t allow for a lot of customizations).

First way

You have an index page for the blog and on each “page” you have a summary block and filter the items to the category you want to feature. Repeat for each section.

Second way

Create a folder (this allows for a dropdown) and then add a link as a page below the page and use the CATEGORY URL and link to it under the folder.

Hey, I'm Bekah! Web designer, Squarespace Circle Gold Partner, marathon runner, and mama of two. I built Rebekah Read Creative in 2018 after leaving corporate America, and I've spent the years since helping purpose-driven entrepreneurs stop cringing at their websites and start getting found on Google.

I'm the kind of person who overshares, processes out loud, and goes all in on whatever has my heart, whether that's running a 50k or building someone's website in a single day. Quality coffee and real conversations are basically my love language.

If you're here, you're probably tired of the Instagram hustle and ready for a website that actually works for you. You're in the right place.
