I’m so passionate about Search Engine Optimization because it allows me to work 15-20 hours a week and still bring in $45,000 (before taxes) by getting clients. I have blog after blog sharing my strategy (as well as a Squarespace SEO Course) in hopes that you too can benefit from SEO doing the heavy-lifting for your business!
Let’s talk keyword research—the magic behind getting your website to show up when someone Googles “[insert what you do here].” Sounds intimidating? It’s not, I promise. Keyword research is like finding the perfect pair of jeans: it takes a little effort, but once you’ve got the right fit, everything else just works. So, grab your coffee, and let’s dive in because done is better than perfect, right?
Think of keywords as the secret sauce to making Google (and your dream clients) happy. By knowing what words or phrases people are typing into that little search bar, you can craft content that meets them right where they are. It’s how you make sure your website isn’t sitting on page 47 of search results, gathering dust.
The key to keyword success? Actually using them. Once you’ve picked your keyword, sprinkle it throughout your blog post—title, headers, and naturally in your content. But don’t overdo it. Google (and readers) can spot a keyword-stuffer from a mile away.
Consistency is queen. Write one blog post a month focusing on your chosen keyword. Not sure where to start? AI tools can help brainstorm ideas and even outline posts. Just remember: your voice is what sets you apart. People don’t just want information; they want your take on it.
THAT BEING SAID, the more times you have keyword phrases like your main phrase the more Google thinks you’re an expert. I wrote 59 blog posts in 2024 and created 37 YouTube videos/ tutorials. This was a major way I brought in passive income (from my courses and affiliate partnerships)
I also welcomed 44 new students to my Squarespace SEO Course in 2024 and the majority of those new purchasers were due to my SEO efforts or bundles I was in.
Keyword research doesn’t have to be overwhelming. It’s about showing up, being strategic, and keeping things simple. And remember, done is better than perfect. So, start today, even if it’s messy—because the internet needs what you have to offer.
Now go get after it!

I’ve got messy hair and a thirsty heart.
I overshare my life, and have an ultra-expressive personality. Some words people use to describe me are: helpful, real, fun, creative, authentic, and kind.
Elphaba from Wicked is kind of my alter-ego as I am always trying to forge my own path and make a difference in the World, somehow, someway, while also constantly criticizing myself and trying to become the better version of me.
Quality conversations + coffee come easy to me.
I’ve never had an issue connecting naturally with others (probs because I can go on and on about my life story, not that it is interesting, I just process externally, anyone else?!)
