The amount of emails I have sent recommending WordPress designers to business owners is a bit extreme, so to save myself some time and energy, here’s a list of WordPress designers for you to consider!
First of all, what qualifies to me to talk on this? I started designing websites on WordPress in 2012! Although it wasn’t very user-friendly it is where my passion of web design began! As I started to grow my business in 2018 I realized when I handed the website off to clients they felt overwhelmed and that is when I pivoted to Squarespace and Showit.
If you’ve been following me for a while, you know that I only design websites on Squarespace and Showit—and there’s a reason for that. Both platforms give my clients (mostly creative entrepreneurs and solopreneurs) an intuitive, user-friendly way to update their sites without needing to mess with code or hire a developer for every little change.
Squarespace is great for streamlined, all-in-one websites, while Showit offers full creative freedom with drag-and-drop design. If you want a high-converting website that you can manage confidently, these are my top picks.

But I get it—sometimes, you just need WordPress. Maybe you have highly custom functionality, need a complex membership site, or want complete control over hosting and plugins. If that’s the case, I won’t leave you hanging! While I don’t design on WordPress, here are a few talented designers who do:
👉 Marta at Anchor Marketing Co.
🔗 anchormarketingco.com
Marta specializes in strategic, SEO-friendly WordPress websites that help businesses grow their online presence. If you want a beautiful site that’s also built to rank on Google, she’s a solid choice.
👉 Mackenzie Mader
🔗 mackenziemader.com
I’ve been following Mackenzie for a while on Instagram and love her aesthetic! She has designed some websites from entrepreneurs I admire like Trena Little. She also has a VIP Design Day Intensive which (as you know) I think is one of the best services!
👉 Bailey at Honey Wave Creative
🔗 honeywavecreative.com
Why don’t you just go look at her site. It is amazing. We connected over Instagram and she is so sweet! She also does one day websites which is a win for you IMO.
Fun fact about Bailey, I designed Peanut Butter + Chocolate‘s initial WordPress website (when I designed on WP between 2012-2019) and then Bailey did a major overhaul on it in 2023! Just a reminder that an average lifespan of a website is 2-5 years. So when you’re thinking about what platform to be on, think about if YOU want to be able to make updates on it or if you would rather outsource it to a designer. Honestly if you have the budget to have someone else do it for you every time, then that is a GREAT option! I’m all about outsourcing!

I met Holly in person at a retreat and she is SO SWEET! She is sparingly doing WordPress work so if you want to get on her calendar, get in touch with her ASAP!
👉 Wild Side Design

Another designer I have never met, BUT I love her story and she has designed some amazing sites for other female entrepreneurs I admire (like Shannon of The Social Bungalow).
👉 Good Cheer Tech Studio

I haven’t personally worked with this studio, but their portfolio looks great! If you’re exploring options, they could be worth a look.
If you’re still unsure whether you need WordPress or if Squarespace or Showit might be a better fit, I’d love to help! My DIY website course, Beyond The Template, walks you through building a strategic site without the WordPress overwhelm.

I’ve got messy hair and a thirsty heart.
I overshare my life, and have an ultra-expressive personality. Some words people use to describe me are: helpful, real, fun, creative, authentic, and kind.
Elphaba from Wicked is kind of my alter-ego (I was a fan LONG before the movie-adaptation - anyone else?!). I am always trying to forge my own path and make a difference in the World, somehow, someway, while also constantly criticizing myself and trying to become the better version of me.
Quality conversations + coffee come easy to me.
I’ve never had an issue connecting naturally with others (probs because I can go on and on about my life story, not that it is interesting, I just process externally...)
