Top 3 Ice Cream Spots in Spokane

Some may think of me as an ice cream snob, I just say I run a lot so why not?! Here are THE BEST places to grab a cone this summer in Spokane, Washington.

1. The Scoop

This one comes HIGHLY suggested (by me). This quaint ice cream shop on the South Hill (and in Kendall Yards) amidst houses always has a line and for good reason! They have fun themes (like Game of Thrones when we went) and delicious ice cream — what more could you want?

2. Mary Lou’s Milk Bottle

This unassuming 50’s-fashion grill is the best place in Spokane for a malt. If you’ve never had a malt, because apparently they are more a Midwestern thing, I definitely suggest trying one at this Spokane favorite. For around $10 (bring cash) you can get a burger, fries and a milkshake – now that’s a win!

3. Pete & Belle’s

This one is technically in the Valley, but they have A TON of flavors from which to choose. Their service was also great. The perfect post-treat after hiking Iller Creek!

I was bummed to see Brain Freeze Creamery and Sweet Peaks not make it. Dang 2020 covid pandemic (I don’t really know if that is what to blame, but I am going with it). I definitely think Spokane’s ice cream scene isn’t great (like we need WAY MORE local ice cream shops), but the few we have are AMAZING!

I will say, if you find yourself craving a milkshake in Spokane Valley, I would definitely check out the Thrifty Scottsman or Ron’s Drive In!

Do you have a favorite ice cream shop in Spokane that rivals one of these 3? Let me know and maybe I will add it to the list!

I’ve got messy hair and a thirsty heart.

I overshare my life, and have an ultra-expressive personality.

Elphaba from Wicked is kind of my alter-ego as I am always trying to forge my own path and make a difference in the World, somehow, someway, while also constantly criticizing myself and trying to become the better version of me.

Quality conversations + coffee come easy to me.

I’ve never had an issue connecting naturally with others (probs because I can go on and on about my life story, not that it is interesting, I just process externally, anyone else?!)

I find so much joy in helping and serving others and I give myself fully to whatever it is that engages me, whether that is running a 50k or creating a website in a day.
