As a small business owner, I constantly was sending quick videos to my clients with how-tos or answering questions that were too long to type. I used Loom for a while, but it kept glitching on me so I switched to Tella to record my YouTube videos and course videos and have loved that you can edit and customize your presentations in the tool! It seriously saves me SO MUCH TIME.
Here is a quick tutorial and behind the scenes look into Tella!
Also you can get 30% off for 1 year of Tella (if you pay monthly – it goes from $19/ month to $13/ month) with this link!
You can start the 7-day free trial (and you can email them to get a full month if you want) and during that time create as many videos as you’d like!
Don’t forget, you get 30% off when you sign up with this link!
First reason I think Tella is better than Loom: If you watched the above video you will notice that first I showed myself full screen and then I had this little Loom-like feature where I’m in the corner. That is all something you can do in Tella.
When you click “record video” it will record a new clip each time. You can stop the click, go back to your notes (if you’re creating a YouTube video or recording content for your course), see what you want to say next, and then record another clip that is all a part of the same video.
Once you have all the clips you want created, you can go in and very quickly edit all of those little Clips separately.
I love that you can pause your recording and make each clip have a different look, layout, or animation to keep people engaged.
The other thing I love about Tella is you can keep it on brand for your creative business. I have my branded orange color in the background of every video. You can also have subtitles, borders, zooming features, and more.
The yearly subscription was definitely a worthy investment for my online business as I am continually creating video content for whenever my clients need a quick tutorial on how to do things on their website or a bit of encouragement.
What questions do you have about Tella or other screen recorders? Put them on the YouTube video!

I’ve got messy hair and a thirsty heart.
I overshare my life, and have an ultra-expressive personality. Some words people use to describe me are: helpful, real, fun, creative, authentic, and kind.
Elphaba from Wicked is kind of my alter-ego as I am always trying to forge my own path and make a difference in the World, somehow, someway, while also constantly criticizing myself and trying to become the better version of me.
Quality conversations + coffee come easy to me.
I’ve never had an issue connecting naturally with others (probs because I can go on and on about my life story, not that it is interesting, I just process externally, anyone else?!)
