Opinion Stage Review: How I’m Using Personality Quizzes to Engage Website Visitors (and Collect Leads on Autopilot)

Let’s Talk About the Website Elephant in the Room…

If your website isn’t bringing in clients, it’s not doing its job. Harsh? Maybe. True? Absolutely.

And if you’re anything like the creative entrepreneurs I work with, you’ve probably stared at your screen wondering: “Why isn’t this converting?” You’ve DIYed the heck out of your site, followed the latest Instagram trend, maybe even whispered sweet nothings to your H1 tags, but crickets. Been there.

So I went looking for a tool that would both engage my website visitors and help them figure out what they need next. Spoiler: I found it. And it’s called Opinion Stage *

The Opinion Stage personality quiz maker helps you create interactive and engaging quizzes. Its intuitive interface makes it super user-friendly (even if you’re not tech-savvy), and it’s designed to boost engagement, capture leads, and guide visitors to the right next step.

In this post, I’m walking you through how I’m using Opinion Stage’s personality quizzes to:

  • Get more engagement on my website
  • Grow my email list with dream clients
  • And guide people to the right solution (without a hard sell)

PLUS, I’ll show you how to embed a quiz into your Showit site in just 3 minutes.

Why Personality Quizzes Actually Work (Yes, Even for Service-Based Businesses)

Let’s be real: attention spans are short, scrolling is endless, and most websites have less than 15 seconds to make an impression. That’s where quizzes shine.

Here’s why they work:

  • They turn passive visitors into active participants (a.k.a. they stop the scroll)
  • They increase dwell time (hello, better SEO and you know I LOVE SEO since I have a course on it)
  • They help people self-identify their biggest struggle
  • And they give you super helpful insights about your audience

“When paired with a lead form, quizzes can generate up to 5x more leads than traditional opt-ins!”

Real talk: A quiz isn’t just a fun website add-on. It’s a lead-generation machine in disguise.

How I Use Opinion Stage as a Website Designer

You know I’m all about strategic websites that do the heavy lifting for you. So I created a quiz called:

“What’s Your Website Superpower (and What’s Holding You Back)?”

It helps my ideal clients (creative entrepreneurs + small biz owners) figure out why their site isn’t converting and what to do about it. Each result points them to my free training: Build a Stunning Website in Just One Weekend.”

Here’s how it’s helped my business (and how it can help yours, too):

  • List Building: Before revealing quiz results, I ask for an email address—using a fun, non-pushy form. I’ve found this to be such a simple way to grow my list, and I think it could work really well for you if you’re looking to capture leads without scaring people off.
  • Audience Insights: I can see what stage most people are in and create content that meets them exactly where they are. This is gold if you’ve ever wished you could peek inside your audience’s mind and know what they actually need from you.
  • Engagement: Visitors stick around longer, click more, and feel seen—which builds trust fast. If you’ve struggled to get people to spend more than a few seconds on your site, this might be your secret weapon.

You can create unlimited quizzes with unlimited questions, and yes, AI quiz generation is included too. Perfect for testing the waters before upgrading.

Is Opinion Stage Worth It? My Honest Take

Here’s what I love:

  • The drag-and-drop builder is non-techie-friendly. It is very logical as it guides you through the process of creating a quiz starting with colors then working backwards from results and then creating questions.
  • You can fully brand your quizzes (fonts, colors, logos—yes please)
  • Lead capture is built in and integrates with your email system
  • I really like the skip logic feature (and haven’t noticed other quizzed having it) and think it could definitely help completion rates.
  • The ability to add videos and images also brands your quiz while making it more interactive to hopefully encourage completion as well.
  • They offer polls, surveys, forms, and assessments too
  • The analytics dashboard makes it easy to see what’s working. It has all of your stats at the top so you can see how many views and how many people started it. You can also see completion rate which will clue you in on how engaging it is/ if it is too long.
  • Did I mention the free forever plan for up to 25 responses/month?

A couple notes:

  • If you want advanced logic branching or unlimited responses, you’ll need to upgrade
  • Custom redirects require a paid plan (but it’s super affordable)

TL;DR: It’s a strategic website designer’s dream if you’re looking to grow your email list in a non-cringey, on-brand way.

How to Embed a Quiz into Your Showit Website (In 3 Minutes or Less)

Yup, it really is this easy. Here’s how to do it:

  1. Create your quiz with Opinion Stage (you can start from scratch, use their gorgeous templates, or get a head start with their AI quiz maker). I had already created my quiz in ChatGPT, so I just used the import feature to load it into Opinion Stage.
  2. Click “Embed & Share” > Copy the embed code
  3. In Showit, go to the bottom and add an Embed Code box where you want the quiz to live
  4. Paste the code and click save. Boom. You’re done.

You can add it to:

  • Your homepage (to engage cold traffic)
  • A dedicated quiz landing page
  • A blog post
  • Your link-in-bio page

I added mine to a landing page and started linking to it from Instagram, Pinterest, and my email signature.

My Results So Far (and Why I’ll Keep Using It)

While I’m still collecting data, here’s what I’ve noticed:

  • Higher dwell time on my site (people actually stay)
  • More qualified leads joining my list
  • Increased sign-ups for my weekend website training

And the best part? People feel seen and supported after taking the quiz. And that, my friend, is how you build connection at scale.

I’ve got messy hair and a thirsty heart.

I overshare my life, and have an ultra-expressive personality. Some words people use to describe me are: helpful, real, fun, creative, authentic, and kind.

Elphaba from Wicked is kind of my alter-ego (I was a fan LONG before the movie-adaptation - anyone else?!). I am always trying to forge my own path and make a difference in the World, somehow, someway, while also constantly criticizing myself and trying to become the better version of me.

Quality conversations + coffee come easy to me.

I’ve never had an issue connecting naturally with others (probs because I can go on and on about my life story, not that it is interesting, I just process externally...)

I find so much joy in helping and serving others and I give myself fully to whatever it is that engages me, whether that is running a 50k or creating a website in a day.
