If I had to sum up this year in one sentence, it would be:
I thought everything was falling apart, but it was actually falling into place.
After seven strong years in business, 2025 started off… quiet. Not the “cozy rest” kind of quiet, more of the “um… hello? is anyone still out there?” kind of quiet. Inquiries slowed. Revenue dipped. My confidence wobbled more than I’d like to admit.
But even in the uncertainty, God kept nudging, redirecting, and surprising me in ways I never could’ve planned.

I kicked off the year with a mini mastermind retreat in Arizona with two biz besties (READ MORE: How We DIYed a Business Mastermind Retreat). We dreamed, we strategized, and we even mapped out the Black Friday Summit. I left feeling hopeful… but still unsure what God was doing with the slow season back home.
With low inquiries came unexpected margin. And instead of spiraling, I trained. I poured energy into my 10th marathon and ended up running a 2:24, qualifying for Boston with a 1-year-old and 3-year-old at home.
On my birthday (5/23), I felt God clearly say:
“Get off Instagram for the summer.”
So I obeyed. Honestly? It had done nothing for my business that year anyway. Little did I know what that obedience would set into motion.
Mid-summer, we got hit with a curveball we never saw coming:
my husband was let go from his job.
We prayed. We processed. I even started looking for jobs.
And in that exact season, God provided voices of encouragement through a Christian Life Coach I exchanged services with. For 12 weeks, she helped me zoom out, trust bigger, and look for God’s fingerprints everywhere.
And then… everything shifted.
My husband ended up landing his dream job back in Iowa, exactly where we had been praying to move. Doors didn’t just open… they flew wide.

I hopped on Instagram for one day to post about the Black Friday Summit. I peeked at one story—ONE—from Kat Schmoyer, who I’d done a mastermind with back in 2019.
She was looking for a website designer ASAP.
I applied.
And within 24 hours…
I was an employee.
A part-time, flexible dream-fit role in the middle of a major life transition? Only God.
And alongside that, I continued offering 1 Website in a Day per month, which has been the perfect blend of creativity, income, and sustainability.

22 TOTAL (13 No, 8 Yes) = 36% Success Rate
This is lower than previous years. from 2020 to 2024 my sales call success rate for website designs was 55%.
$35K (take-home: $20K) + $4,500 for KSA
Although this was lower than previous years, I hit my “good” goal: $39K

I’ve got messy hair and a thirsty heart.
I overshare my life, and have an ultra-expressive personality. Some words people use to describe me are: helpful, real, fun, creative, authentic, and kind.
Elphaba from Wicked is kind of my alter-ego (I was a fan LONG before the movie-adaptation - anyone else?!). I am always trying to forge my own path and make a difference in the World, somehow, someway, while also constantly criticizing myself and trying to become the better version of me.
Quality conversations + coffee come easy to me.
I’ve never had an issue connecting naturally with others (probs because I can go on and on about my life story, not that it is interesting, I just process externally...)
