How Do You Best Set Yourself Up For Success With Your Branding Process?

This is a question I have received many times. With my Showit and Squarespace website design packages, we go through a strategic approach to developing your brand. I truly believe that just setting up a website for you is not enough.

When you walk away from a website experience with me, you will walk away with a completely new brand. Through brand discovery calls and my brand guide, we will uncover:

  • The core of your brand/ your “WHY”
  • Intentional visions
  • A clear mission statement
  • Your values
  • Your differentiators
  • The main problem you are solving
  • Your brand voice and message (verbiage)
  • A moodboard that you can reference back to when creating any marketing collateral
  • Your ideal client’s demographics AND psychographics
  • Keywords and phrases to use throughout your website and on future blog posts to get yourself seen on page 1 of Google (that’s “SEO”)

Great, but how do I set myself up for success to go about this process? As I mentioned, I will guide you through that 100%, however if you are looking to DIY-it, here are some tips to get you started.

1. Discover the purpose behind your brand

If you want to develop a brand that people love, this needs to be your first step! Ask yourself why you exist, whom you want to serve, the problem you are solving, and what differentiates you. If you put this together, you have a mission statement!

2. Develop a Pinterest Board

Pinterest is a great resource to use to pin things that inspire you, colors that jump out to you, etc. When you have pinned 20+ things, look at the board you created. You will most likely see a trend in the color palette and feel. This will help you get started on your brand colors!

3. Look through past texts with friends

Look at the emails and texts you send close friends and family members. Most likely it is a bit more informal and shines your personality! Take out the key phrases you see frequently and create a phrase bank. These are great phrases to use throughout the copy of your website as well as your social media posts that will speak to your ideal client and make them feel like they know you. The goal is to make them know, like, and trust you so they will then buy from you!

I’ve got messy hair and a thirsty heart.

I overshare my life, and have an ultra-expressive personality. Some words people use to describe me are: helpful, real, fun, creative, authentic, and kind.

Elphaba from Wicked is kind of my alter-ego as I am always trying to forge my own path and make a difference in the World, somehow, someway, while also constantly criticizing myself and trying to become the better version of me.

Quality conversations + coffee come easy to me.

I’ve never had an issue connecting naturally with others (probs because I can go on and on about my life story, not that it is interesting, I just process externally, anyone else?!)

I find so much joy in helping and serving others and I give myself fully to whatever it is that engages me, whether that is running a 50k or creating a website in a day.
