If you follow me on social media, you may have noticed that I was a bit absent the last two weeks. I was able to return to a place I called home for a year and a half. During my time in Honduras I was a foster mom to an 11 day old baby boy for 4.5 months, assisted at an all-girls home (www.projecttalithacumi.com), and helped R.O.O.M (www.makeroom.org) with orphanage care. I returned to the girls’ home as well as supported a friend and missionary (www.abbapadreinternational.com) with watching 5 sweet foster kids who are in the process of getting adopted (Lord willing) SOON!
All of these faces you will see have one thing in common, at one point they were abandoned. However every single story has unfolded beautifully where they were chosen. It really is a wonderful depiction of how God chose them from the womb and ordained their future (Galatians 1:15). Each of these kids are loved so well by their family and it shows all over their smiling faces.
Without further ado, allow me to introduce you to some of my closest friends/ family in Honduras.
I’ve got messy hair and a thirsty heart.
I overshare my life, and have an ultra-expressive personality.
Elphaba from Wicked is kind of my alter-ego as I am always trying to forge my own path and make a difference in the World, somehow, someway, while also constantly criticizing myself and trying to become the better version of me.
Quality conversations + coffee come easy to me.
I’ve never had an issue connecting naturally with others (probs because I can go on and on about my life story, not that it is interesting, I just process externally, anyone else?!)
