So you’ve just had your Showit website built—maybe you worked with a designer (hi, friend 👋) or followed a template to DIY it yourself. Either way, you’re now the proud owner of a beautiful site. But what happens next?
You’ve got a few tweaks to make. Maybe a testimonial to swap out, a photo to replace, or a blog post to publish. And if you’re anything like the amazing creative entrepreneurs I work with, you’re probably thinking:
“Wait… how do I actually edit this thing without breaking it?”
That’s where this guide comes in.
In this post, I’m walking you through how to confidently update your Showit site—specifically when it comes to collecting, organizing, and publishing your content. Whether you’re editing images, swapping text, or updating your blog through WordPress, I’ve got you covered.
Let’s take the mystery (and stress) out of content collection and editing in Showit, shall we?

Before we dive into the how-to, let’s quickly talk about what “website content collection” actually means.
When I say content collection, I’m referring to gathering the written copy, images, brand elements, and information you need to plug into your website so it reflects your brand and speaks directly to your dream clients.
This process is essential whether you’re:
👉 Good content is what turns a pretty website into a high-converting one. It’s what tells your story, builds trust, and guides your visitors toward booking or buying.
So as we go through this tutorial, I want you to be thinking not just about how to make changes, but what content your website needs to be effective.
Let’s jump into the Showit side of things first.
When you log into your Showit dashboard, you’ll see a split screen: the left-hand side holds all your site structure and page settings, while the right-hand side is your design canvas (aka where the visual magic happens).
Under “Design Settings,” you can update:
But quick PSA: If you worked with me or purchased a template, these are already set up to be on-brand and conversion-friendly. You can change them—but only if you’re confident in your branding or working with a brand strategist.
If not, leave them be and focus on updating page-specific content instead.
To make changes to your homepage (or any page), click on the page title on the left-hand side—e.g., “Home.”
Here’s how to update the major elements:
Click directly on the image you want to change. Then, on the right-hand side of the screen, you’ll see options to delete, replace, or resize the image.
To upload a new photo:
Want to change your headline or paragraph? Just double-click on the text box in either the mobile or desktop view and start typing.
To format your text:
💡Pro tip: Edits made in desktop view will reflect in mobile view—but you can (and should) check both versions to make sure everything still looks clean and readable.
Galleries are often used for portfolios, testimonials, or image-heavy sections (hello, photographers 👋). To update a gallery:
You can use static images or dynamic ones, depending on your setup. If we worked together, your gallery is likely a static setup that’s easy to manage manually.
Showit buttons are made of text and shapes. You can:

Before you hit “Publish,” always click the Preview button at the top of your Showit screen.
Toggle between desktop and mobile to make sure:
If it all looks good, go ahead and click “Publish.” ✨
If you ever get stuck, Showit’s support team is a hidden gem. Use the little chat bubble in the bottom corner of your dashboard to:
Their team is usually super responsive within a few hours—and yes, they’re actual humans who get it.
If your site has a blog (and it should, because #SEO), that’s the one area you’ll be managing outside of Showit.
Here’s how to do it like a pro:
Head to your site URL and type /wp-admin
at the end.
Example:yourdomain.com/wp-admin
Log in with your credentials, and you’ll land in the WordPress dashboard.
Once inside WordPress:
Categories are broad topics (e.g., “Web Design Tips” or “Client Launches”) while tags are specific keywords (e.g., “Squarespace,” “SEO,” or “VIP Day”).

This is super important because Showit pulls your featured image into the blog layout.
