Karianne Gwinn Wellness: A Squarespace Website Case Study

A Website That Earns Trust Before the First Conversation: Karianne Gwinn Wellness

THE CLIENT AND THE CHALLENGE

Karianne Gwinn is a Functional Nutritional Therapy Practitioner and Psychosomatic Practitioner working with women who have often exhausted conventional medicine before finding her. Her clients arrive cautious, skeptical, and tired. They’ve been handed prescriptions without real answers. They’ve been told their symptoms are stress. They need to trust someone deeply before they’ll commit to working with them, and that trust-building used to fall entirely on Karianne herself.

The challenge was building a full website (in a day) that could do some of that work in advance. The site needed to be honest, specific, and direct in a way the right person would immediately recognize, without overselling or sounding clinical.

THE APPROACH

The first decision was the headline. It’s not soft. It’s not vague. It names the problem and the promise in a handful of words, which is exactly what an audience conditioned to be skeptical of wellness claims needs to hear.

From there, the website walks visitors through the full picture of what Karianne offers: her flagship 1:1 nutritional therapy and somatic healing work, standalone somatic support sessions, and speaking and education services, each with real detail about who it’s for and what to expect. A process section breaks down what working together actually looks like, step by step, starting with your story, not your lab work. An FAQ section on the Services page addresses the real hesitations people carry before they reach out. A testimonial sits throughout the site at all the right moments in the journey to add social proof in a real client’s own words.

For another client, that same kind of layered structure took shape in a bold, faith-filled Squarespace website for a Christian life coach, where the page order had to carry someone from skepticism to trust just as carefully.

THE DESIGN DETAILS

Every visual decision on this website points back to the same goal: feel trustworthy, grounded, and safe. The palette runs in warm terracotta, dusty sage, and soft neutral tones. Nothing clinical. Nothing trendy. The color environment mirrors the nervous system regulation that Karianne’s practice is built around, which gives the site a coherence visitors feel even when they can’t name it.

The typography pairs a confident serif for headlines with clean, readable body type. The serif adds authority without coldness. The body type keeps long content easy to read. Natural photography throughout reinforces the sensory world of the work itself.

White space is generous. The site never feels busy or pressured. It breathes at the same pace as the work behind it.

If you want a broader look at how palette and type pairings like this play out across different brands, my 2024 roundup of Showit and Squarespace website design shows several side by side.

THE RESULT

The finished website is a full, multi-layered site that holds the weight of what Karianne does. It speaks directly to the woman who’s been dismissed and is looking for something different. It earns her trust, answers her questions, explains the work, and gives her a clear path forward without any pressure.

Not every client needs a build this layered, though. Some need something faster: how Bek Byrne revamped her photography website in just one weekend is proof a high-converting site doesn’t always require months on the calendar.

Building a website for a practice like this is work I genuinely love. If you’re a wellness practitioner, therapist, or health professional whose current website doesn’t reflect the real depth of what you do, let’s talk about what we can build together.

Hey, I'm Bekah! Web designer, Squarespace Circle Gold Partner, marathon runner, and mama of two. I built Rebekah Read Creative in 2018 after leaving corporate America, and I've spent the years since helping purpose-driven entrepreneurs stop cringing at their websites and start getting found on Google.

I'm the kind of person who overshares, processes out loud, and goes all in on whatever has my heart, whether that's running a 50k or building someone's website in a single day. Quality coffee and real conversations are basically my love language.

If you're here, you're probably tired of the Instagram hustle and ready for a website that actually works for you. You're in the right place.
